New Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens for Mirrorless Cameras

Venus Optics officially announced the Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens – the World’s Widest Shift lens for full frame cameras and medium format cameras.

Available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Canon RF, Nikon Z, and Sony FE mounts the lens is constructed of 17 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical elements and a new lens coating. It has a 110-degree angle of view, offers a 65mm image circle and can shift +/-11mm on full-frame camera systems (+/-8mm when adapted for medium format cameras, such as Fujifilm GFX and Hasselblad X1D cameras).

The Laowa 15mm F4.5 Zero-D Shift is available to pre-order today for Canon EF, RF, Nikon F, Nikon Z and full-frame Sony E-mount camera systems for $1,199 on Venus Optics’ website. The Canon EF and Nikon F mount versions will be available in late November 2020, while the Canon RF, Nikon Z and full-frame Sony E-mount versions won’t be available until February 2021. Fujifilm XF 50mm f/1 R WR lens is a very good option if you do not own a XF56mm and would like weather resistance.

The XF 50mm F1.0 has 12 elements in nine groups, and contains one aspherical element and two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. It has a rounded diaphragm and its wide maximum aperture means that, paired with Fujifilm’s X-Pro3 and X-T4 cameras, users can autofocus at a luminance level of -7EV. Updated Fujifilm X-mount Lens Roadmap (XF 18mm f/1.4 & XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 OIS)

Along with the Fujifilm X-S10 camera and Fujinon XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR lens., Fujifilm also announced the latest development roadmap for interchangeable lenses for the X Series of compact and lightweight mirrorless cameras.

The latest roadmap shows the addition of two new lenses, a large-diameter wide angle prime lens and a telephoto zoom lens. These would be the XF 18mm f/1.4 lens and XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 OIS lens. Fujifilm Introduces Fujinon XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR Lens

In addition to the Fujifilm X-S10 camera, Fuji also announced the Fujinon XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR lens. The optical layout is just the same, but the new lens boasts slimmer zoom and focus rings, better stabilisation and a new, marked aperture dial.

Covering an equivalent focal length range of 15-36mm in full-frame terms, the XF 10-24mm F4 R OIS WR is a high-quality wide-angle option for Fujifilm X-series shooters. Now featuring weather-resistance, the new lens should be a better companion for the similarly tough X-T4 and X-T3.

Despite the sealing, the new lens is very slightly lighter than its predecessor (by 25g / 0.9oz) and optical image stabilization has been improved by one stop, bringing the total stabilizing effect to a rated 3.5EV (CIPA). When combined with the in-camera IBIS system of the X-T4, total stabilization increases to 6.5EV.

Rumors : Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 GM Lens to be Announced in Early 2021

According to latest rumors, Sony is rumored to announce a new FE 16mm f/1.8 GM lens in early 2021.

We expect this wide-angle prime lens to be announced at major fairs at the beginning of 2021, although the announcement date is not yet clear.

Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 GM lens will be fastest 16mm lens in the world. It will be “about the same size and build quality” as the FE 24mm f/1.4 GM lens, so expect a large, well-built lens with lots of glass and a hefty price tag.
