Patents : Canon RF 400mm f/2.8L, RF 500mm f/4L, RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lenses

Canon has filed new patents in Japan. These applications are for three super telephoto prime lenses named as RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens, RF 500mm f/4L IS USM Lens, and RF 600mm f/4L IS USM Lens.

We already know that the first super telephoto prime glass in RF-series lens lineup will be the RF 500mm f/4L. In the past, Canon tends to announce super telephoto prime lenses in pairs, so it is a possibility to expect another one like RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. Olympus MC-20 2x Teleconverter for 40-150mm f/2.8 and 300mm f/4 Pro Lenses

Olympus officially announced the new MC-20 2x teleconverter for 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO Lens and 300mm f/4 IS PRO Lens. This provides the effect of an 80-300mm f/5.6 and a 600mm f/8 lens respectively, dramatically boosting the apparent focal length of those lenses with a minimal increase to the size or weight of the camera and lens combination.

This teleconverter doubles the focal length of the master lens, and features dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof (-10°C) professional weatherproof construction for outstanding optical performance ideal for even the most severe environmental conditions.

More Details About Canon EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM Lens

Canon is allegedly working on a new EF 200-600mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM lens. The super telephoto zoom optic were previously rumored for late 2018 but there is no mention within the rumor mill since then.

Video Review: Fujifilm XF 200mm F2 R LM OIS WR Lens

DPRTV published a short film about the Fujinon XF 200mm F2 R LM OIS WR lens. The whole episode was filmed on the Fujifilm GFX 100, while attending Fujikina in Japan using a pre-production model.

Patent : Tamron 485mm f/5.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds

Tamron has filed a new patent in Japan. This patent describes a Tamron 485mm f/5.8 lens for mirrorless cameras with Micro Four Thirds image sensors.

If we see this in mass production than it would be Tamron’s second optic for Micro 4/3rds. First one released back in mid-2014 as the Tamron 14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III ($399). NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/4 Lens Coming in 2020 to 2021

First rumors about the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/4 Lens have been leaked online. According to recent reports this is one of the upcoming TBA lenses in the Nikon Z mount lens roadmap.

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/4 lens will be cheaper and lighter than NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S lens. Release date for this lens is in 2020 to 2021.
