Sony A7S IV to be Announced in Q3 or Q4, 2023 w/ No 8K Video

So let’s talk about the latest rumors on Sony A7s IV camera. According to latest Sony rumors, this new camera will be announced in Q3 or Q4 of 2023. It will have 6K sensor for RAW video and the highest dynamic range ever.

This will be a new, top of the line and very expensive pro video-centric mirrorless camera without 8K video recording. The features list for Sony A7s IV is not leaked yet, but our expectation would be the introduction of a 24.2MP CMOS Sensor with enhanced video core specifications. Sony New 20MP Four Third and 40MP Full-frame Sensor

Dpreview forum members spotted a new Sony 4/3 image sensor IMX472-AAJK on Sony’s website.

There is a 20MP M4/3 Stacked BSI CMOS Sensor as well as a Brand new 40MP Fullframe Sensor is also surfaced.  Let’s discuss the 20MP M4/3 format sensor first. The sensor is designed for digital cameras. However it’s unlikely this sensor will be used for the GH6 as the resolution isn’t enough for the teased 5.6k video recording. Rumors : Sony a9 III 8K Camera Specs, to be Announced at CES 2021

According to latest rumors, the rumored Sony flagship full frame 8K mirrorless camera could be named Sony a9 III. The official announcement for Sony a9 III could be as early as CES 2021 in January.

Sony 8K Mirrorless Camera Rumored to Arrive in Q1 of 2021

Sony is rumored to announce a flagship 8K Mirrorless Camera to compete with the upcoming Canon EOS-R1 model.

This will be a new, top of the line and very expensive pro mirrorless camera with 8K video recording. The full frame 8K E-mount mirrorless camera is expected to arrive in early 2021 just before the Tokyo Olympics 2021 in Summer. Name is not clear yet but the Sony A9x is the talks.

Sony a7 IV & New Flagship Camera Rumored for 2021

Besides the newly announced Sony a7S III and Sony a7C, Sony is planning to announce two new full frame E-mount mirrorless cameras in 2021.

One of the rumored mode is the highly=anticipated Sony a7 IV (announcement probably in Q3 of 2021), the other could be a new flagship full frame E-mount mirrorless camera sitting above the current Sony a9 II (announcement probably in Q1 of 2021).

New Sony Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Coming in June, Sony a7S III or a7 IV?

Sony will have a major product announcement in June 2020. It is expected that the company is going to announce a new full frame E-mount mirrorless camera and several new E-mount lenses on this event.

What exactly will it be, though? Many people are hoping for a video camera: the Sony a7S III.  On the other hand, the Sony a7 III is already two years old.

According to rumor mill what we know so far, this camera will NOT be the Sony a7 IV. In addition, the previously rumored the Sony a7S III mirrorless camera will be announced in June 2020 and it is expected to be an 8K 60P 10bit 422 low light powerhouse. The new Sony product announcement has been delayed to April 30th, which was originally scheduled to come on April 20th 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 epidemic that wreaked havoc on the world, many manufacturers and the events postponed their announcements.
