Nikon Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S Lens tested at DxOMark website. According to test results the brigh prime Nikon lens achieved an overall score of 38 points. 

Tested on the high-resolution 45.7MP Nikon Z 7 full frame mirrorless camera, the Nikkor Z 35mm F1.8 S ranks as the highest-scoring Nikon 35mm lens with an impressive sharpness sub-score of 30 PMpix at f/4.

Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens Tested at DxOMark

Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens tested at DxOMark website. According to test results the RF 50mm f/1.2L USM lens achieved an overall score of 38 points. 

The lens tested on the Canon EOS R, the company’s 30.3Mp full-frame mirrorless camera, and it compares well with Canon’s previous 50mm f/1.2 lens.

This score puts the Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L among the top five 50mm lenses in DxOMark’s rating. However, it’s clearly below the score of lenses that costs much less, e.g. the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSMand the Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4. Continue reading “Canon RF 50mm f/1.2L USM Lens Tested at DxOMark”

Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Announced for full-frame Canon, Nikon DSLRs

Tamron has announced what it calls ‘the finest lens in its history’, introducing the new SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD (Model F045)  for full-frame Canon and Nikon DSLRs.

The new Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD features an optical construction of 14 elements in 10 groups, with four Low Dispersion and three Glass Molded Aspherical lens elements. Voigtlander Nokton 21mm f/1.4 Aspherical FE Lens Release Date in June, Price $1,100

The new Voigtlander Nokton 21mm f/1.4 Aspherical FE Lens for Sony E-mount will be released in June, 2019.

The Japanese price for the wide-angle prime optic is 159,300 yen, the same price as the Nokton 40mm f/1.2 FE lens. According to the conversion the US price of this Voigtlander Nokton 21mm f/1.4 Aspherical FE lens to be around $1,100. Along with the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) announcement, Canon USA also posted a comparison article between the RF 85mm f/1.2L USM Vs. RF 85mm f/1.2L USM DS. As you know the “DS” version lens will be announced in later 2019.
