Canon has filed a new lens patent for RF-mount full frame mirrorless cameras. The patent application describes the RF 8mm f/4 Fisheye lens which will be the first for Canon RF mount lineup.
This fisheye lens would be good companion for the previously patented Canon RF 10-24mm f/4L USM Lens, Canon RF 12-24mm f/4L USM Lens, Canon RF 14-28mm f/2L USM Lens.

Canon has just filed two new lens patents RF 85mm f/1.8 lens and RF 100mm f/2.8 lens. New Canon patents are for RF-mount and will be designed for company’s full frame mirrorless cameras.

Canon will allegedly announce a RF 14-28mm f/2L Lens and this will be a new addition to complete the trio.
As you know the company unveiled the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM lens for EOS R full frame mirrorless camera system in 2019. Now recent reports indicates that Canon will release a “holy trinity” of RF mount f/2L zoom lenses. The RF 14-28mm f/2L USM Lens is one of them and to be announced next. Here is the latest patent for Canon RF 70-200mm f/4L Internal Zoom Lens.
The company already has the 70-200mm glass for RF-mount. It is their first RF mount internal zoom lens: RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon). This lens turns out one of the best selling lenses currently. According to latest Canon Japan patent, Canon may also announce a new RF 70-200mm f/4L internal zoom lens.

Olympus filed a new patent for a wide angle zoom lens in Japan. The patent application describes a Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens designed for Micro Four Thirds system mirrorless cameras.
Olympus 8-24mm f/4 will also be a pro-grade constant aperture lens for enthusiasts and professional photographers that need an ultra wide-angle zoom lens. It will be equivalent of 16-48mm in 35mm terms.
If becomes in mass production this Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens would be an ideal choice for travel and landscape photography.

Canon recently registered a new RF mount superzoom lens. The patent application describes the Canon RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 lens.
The Canon RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 lens will be a consumer oriented lens for the company’s full frame EOS R system. Canon previously filed several RF superzoom lens patents. Here are the latest Canon RF superzoom lens patents. The company recently registered several new RF mount superzoom lenses.

Canon’s plans for exotic RF-mount lenses continues, with new designs for ultra-fast ultra wide-angle optics.
As a result the company filed patents for Canon RF 18mm f/1.0, Canon RF 18mm f/1.2 and Canon RF 25mm f/1.2 optics. Both lenses are not in Canon’s RF lens roadmap.
