New Firmware Released for Olympus E-M1X, E-M II, E-M1 III & E-M5 III Update Stopped

Olympus released a new firmware update. Version 3.4 for the OM-D E-M1 Mark II, Version 2.0 for the OM-D E-M1X and Version 1.2 for OM-D E-M1 Mark III now available for download.

This new firmware provides feature enhancements for photographers and ability to use focus stacking photography with M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO lens which is $7500 at Adorama and B&HPhoto.

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO Lens Announced, Priced $7,499.95

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC1.25X IS PRO Lens officially announced.   It is a super-telephoto zoom lens characterized by its expansive range, built-in teleconverter, and relatively sleek design for handheld use, offering a 300-800mm equivalent focal length range, which can be extended even further using the integrated 1.25x teleconverter for 1000mm equivalent focal length.

Olympus ED 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro Lens Price to be Around $7.499,99

According to recent reports the upcoming Olympus ED 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro lens will be priced at around $7.499,99.

Designed for Micro Four Thirds system cameras the lens will provide a standard focal range of 300-800mm equiv. and with a built-in 1.25X teleconverter it becomes 375-1000mm equiv., at the cost of 2/3-stop of light. The lens will also be compatible with Olympus’ new MC-20 2X teleconverter.

Already in development, the new super telephoto zoom lens Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO will be released on January 2021.

Olympus Unveils Updated Lens Roadmap Featuring New Lenses

According to recent announcement from Olympus, the new super telephoto zoom lens Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO will be released in winter of 2020.

The Olympus 150-400mm F4.5 Pro lens will be stabilized and work with the 5-axis IS systems built into modern Olympus cameras for extra shake reduction. Fully weather-sealed lens from Olympus could work at temperatures as low as -10°C/+14°F. Olympus also unveiled a new lens roadmap, showcasing a new 8-25mm lens as well as a telephoto macro. Olympus ED 150-400mm f/4.5 Pro Lens to be Released in Fall 2020

Already in development, the new super telephoto zoom lens Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO will be released around Fall in 2020.

A German interview with Olympus Forum shared some interesting details about the future Olympus products. According to the interview the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm f/4.5 TC 1.25x IS PRO Lens will be available in late 2020. The company might have plans for a Mark II of PEN-F model. Patent : Olympus 8-24mm f/4 Lens

Olympus filed a new patent for a wide angle zoom lens in Japan. The patent application describes a Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens designed for Micro Four Thirds system mirrorless cameras.

 will also be a pro-grade constant aperture lens for enthusiasts and professional photographers that need an ultra wide-angle zoom lens. It will be equivalent of 16-48mm in 35mm terms.

If becomes in mass production this Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens would be an ideal choice for travel and landscape photography.

Updated Olympus M.Zuiko Digital Lens Roadmap

Olympus has released an updated lens roadmap showing three new lenses, including two new PRO lenses, as well as an affordable telephoto zoom lens.

According to the new M.Zuiko digital lens roadmap these lenses are the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-45mm F4.0 PRO, M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS and an as yet unspecified “pro telephoto zoom” lens.

The ED 100-400mm f/5.0-6.3 IS lens will give a 200-800mm equivalent and should give a more budget friendly entry into the super telephoto zoom arena. There are additional PRO lenses shown, including two telephoto zoom lenses, one wide-zoom lens, and a range of “bright prime lenses”, however details have not yet been released for these.
