Confirmed : New Nikon Cameras Coming in 2021

Nikon did not introduce any new products at the 2021 CP+ event, but the company’s general manager, Mr. Satoshi Yamazaki was confirmed in the interview that we will meet the new Nikon products in 2021.

So you probably asking What is Nikon planning to compete against the rivals Canon and Sony? The impact of the new $6,500 Sony a1 camera is huge and there is also the amazing Canon EOS R5. We can expect Nikon to release Nikon Z8Z9Z1 cameras to compete with Sony a1Canon EOS R5Sony a7S III and more.

Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit and New Firmware Ver. 1.10

Nikon has announced the new Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit and new firmware Ver. 1.10 to improve the performance of the Nikon Z7 II & Z6 II.

The new Nikon Z6 II Essential Movie Kit includes the Atomos Ninja V external video recorder allowing ProRes RAW recording.

New Nikon Z6 II & Z7 II Firmware Update : Improved EyeAF and Z6II gets 4K UHD/60p

Nikon is expected to announce their details of CP+ show 2021 on February 18th, 2021. This will include a new firmware update version 1.10 for Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II.

According to the leak this new Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II Firmware Update will be available for download on February 25, 2021. Both full frame mirrorless cameras will benefit from Improved EyeAF and the Z6 II gets support for 4K UHD 60p. Rumor Update : New 8K Nikon Camera Coming in Spring with 46MP

So you probably asking what will be the impact of the new $6,500 Sony a1 camera on Nikon?  According to the recent reports, 8K Nikon camera will arrive this Spring/Summer, with advanced core specifications to compete against the Sony a1 and the possible Canon EOS R1. By the way the name of this Nikon flagship camera could be called Nikon Z1 and not the previously rumored Z9.

More information on 8K Nikon camera continues to come. Accordingly, it is among the leaked rumors that the mirrorless camera, which is expected to be positioned at a high level, will have a 46MP sensor. It is expected to have a new EXPEED processor that can shoot up to 20fps at full speed and can shoot 8K / 30p video. The camera will also feature advanced subject-detection AF, high-resolution non-dimming EVF, dual XQD / CFExpress card slots, Gigabit LAN, and the “new user interface”, but there are no other details shared at this point.

The body of the Nikon Z1 will look like a camera comprised of a Nikon D6-style body (possibly with a built-in handle), Canon EOS R5-level imaging capabilities, and Sony a9II-level autofocus. Rumored Nikon Z9 Specifications : 46MP, 20 fps, 8K30p

The first information on Nikon Z9 specifications continues to come. Accordingly, it is among the leaked rumors that the mirrorless camera, which is expected to be positioned at a high level, will have a 46MP sensor, 20fps continuous shooting speed, 8K30p and 4K120p video shooting.

If we look at the Nikon Z9 specifications in detail, the camera will reportedly feature a 46 MP sensor and a brand new EXPEED processor that can shoot up to 20 fps at full speed and can shoot 8K / 30p video. The camera will also feature advanced subject-detection AF, high-resolution non-dimming EVF, dual XQD / CFExpress card slots, Gigabit LAN, and the “new user interface”, but there are no other details shared at this point.

Nikon D3500 and D5600 listed as discontinued

The  Nikon D3500 and D5600 DSLRs are officially listed as discontinued. Both entry-level Nikon DSLRs are listed as ‘Old Products’ on the Nikon Japan website, which traditionally hich historically is an indication that these models are already or will soon be discontinued.

Recent rumors indicate that Nikon plans to release two new DSLRs in 2021 along with several new F-mount lenses. The Nikon D3500 isn’t that old though, and it was a pretty minor refresh over the D3400. For this segment Nikon could wait and pass a year easily.

Nikon Rumored to Release Two New DSLRs in 2021

According to a recent reports, Nikon plans to release two new DSLRs in 2021 along with several new F-mount lenses.

Apparently, Nikon has stated that it has not stopped the development of DSLRs because the company is not quite ready to give up on the F-mount. We also know and see that the majority of research and development moves are focused on mirrorless. Especially in 2020 we’ve met several Nikon Z cameras and lenses.
