Nikon Releases NX Studio Software That Combines ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D

Nikon has announced the release of NX Studio image. The video editing/viewing software combines the best bits of Nikon’s View NX-i and Capture NX-D software applications in a single piece of software.

The newly released Nikon NX Studio is essentially a replacement for both applications, offering almost every feature of the pair in a single program. Capture NX-D and ViewNX-i will remain available for download, but are unlikely to be updated to add support for new cameras or compatibility with future operating system updates.

Nikon digital camera users can download the software, free of charge, from today and those who currently use View NX-i and Capture NX-D are advised to switch to NX Studio as View NX-i and Capture NX-D will no longer be updated so they’re compatible with the latest OS and new functions won’t be added either. Nikon Z Mount Patents: Z 16-34mm f/2.8, Z 18-50mm f/2.8-4 & Z 16-50mm f/4 Lenses

Nikon has filed three new patents for Z mount mirrorless cameras. The application describes NIKKOR Z 16-34mm f/2.8 Lens, NIKKOR Z 18-50mm f/2.8-4 Lens and NIKKOR Z 16-50mm f/4 Lens.

We can say that all Z-mount lenses are designed for Nikon full frame mirrorless camera system. As you remember, in a CP + 2021 event interview, Nikon manager stated that the company is considering to release many new cameras and lenses in 2021.

Venus Optics officially announced the Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens for Nikon Z mount. The US price of this lens is $399. Now the new Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens is available for Nikon APS-C body (Z50). Venus Optics lenses are sold at Adorama and B&H.

The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2X macro APO is the first macro lens that Venus Optics designs for systems other than full-frame cameras. This is the only macro lens in the market that is capable of producing 2X life-size images and designed specially for mirrorless cameras. Nikon introduced two new teleconverters with its professional Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon) telephoto zoom: The Z TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x teleconverters are designed for Nikon’s Z-series mirrorless cameras and corrected for full-frame sensors. Teleconverters are mounted between the lens and the camera body and magnify the image by 1.4x or 2.0x thus effectively increasing the focal length of each lens by the same amount. Unfortunately lenses have to be designed to work with teleconverters and currently the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 VR S is the only lens which can be used with Nikon’s new TC-1.4x and TC-2.0x. But Nikon will certainly add more lenses to their Z line-up in the future which can use teleconverters.

Official : Nikon Will No Longer Provide International Warranty

Nikon has announced it will no longer provide a international warranty for its products. Instead, the company says it will transition to regional warranties for interchangeable lenses and accessories by the end of this month.

Nikon says the change will affect ‘NIKKOR interchangeable lenses (F mount and Z mount lenses, mount adapters, etc.) and accessories (Speedlights, etc.).
