Nikon Z7 firmware update 1.03 and Nikon Z6 firmware update 1.01 released

Nikon has released new firmware updates for the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 full frame mirrorless cameras.

Nikon Z7 firmware update 1.03 and Nikon Z6 firmware update 1.01 firmware updates fixes several issues. The previously announced major firmware that will add Eye AF, RAW video support, CFexpress support to Z series is expected later.

Canon EOS RP Price and Shipping Date spotted in UK. The upcoming Canon EOS RP will be a new entry level full-frame mirrorless camera.

It will be officially announced this week on February 14th. According to rumor mill, the UK price for Canon EOS RP body with lens adapter is £1,399.00, and release date is on February 27th, 2019.

Canon RF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Patent

Here is a Canon patent application (2019-020679) for a RF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 IS lens. Designed for Canon full frame mirrorless camera system, this lens is the EOS R version of the budget-friendly telephoto zoom for the consumer market.

Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 AF Test Video

Here is a test video between the Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 cameras. The new LUMIX S1R and S1 Micro Four Thirds cameras, uses the same Depth from Defocus AF system. On the other hand Nikon Z6 features 273 Phase AF points based Fullframe Sensor.

Panasonic S1’s ($2,497.99 at AmazonB&HAdorama) DFD is contrast-detect based but uses an understanding of each lens’s optical characteristics to work out where to drive the focus to. The camera’s AF Tracking mode has been updated, too. It now tracks whatever is under the focus point when you half-press (or AF-On) and then reverts to your original AF area when you release. Rumors: Leica Q2 with 47MP sensor, Leica S3 with 64MP sensor

According to recent reports the upcoming Leica Q2 camera could feature a new 47MP sensor. The new Leica FOTOS app version 1.1.0 already has a listing for the upcoming Leica Q2 camera with two new resolution settings.

Rumors claims that one of them is for Leica Q2 with 47MP sensor and the other one is for Leica S3 with 64MP sensor.

So in addition to the Sony RX1, Leica will make it serious full-frame fixed-lens competitor with the upcoming Zeiss ZX1.

Leica Q2 Camera Rumors

  • “Leica Q2” has already been trademarked in Europe since 2017
  • Leica Q2 has also already been registered at the Indonesian government agency Postel under the code name “4889”

Confirmed : Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM Lens to be Announced Soon

Finally it is now confirmed that the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens will be announced soon. The fast telephoto prime lens will be designed for Sony full frame E-mount.

Official announcement of the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens is expected happen ahead of CP+ Show 2019 on February 14th.

It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 202.5mm equivalent focal length. Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture is good for low-light conditions and also provides greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques.

Check out the list of upcoming Sony mirrorless lenses in 2019. There will be four new lenses and Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens is one of them.
