Fujifilm is set to elevate the X100 series with the upcoming X100VI, the camera is expected around February 20th.
The upcoming X100VI looks to take everything up a notch with some major rumored upgrades under the hood. Headlining the specs is a new 40MP APS-C sensor, which would be the same high-resolution chip found in the Fujifilm X-H2 camera. Paired with the latest generation X-Processor 5 chip, we can expect stunning levels of detail along with improved noise control at higher ISOs.
The hybrid viewfinder will allegedly receive an upgrade to 3.69 million dots resolution, providing an extremely sharp and detailed electronic view for critical manual focusing applications. Autofocus performance also looks to make a big leap forward thanks to advanced subject detection algorithms that can recognize animals, birds, vehicles, and people.
On the video side, the X100VI topped out at 4K/30p but the VI may offer 6.2K recording along with 4K up to 60fps. This would make the new model much more viable as a video camera for vlogging and travel documentaries.
