Upcoming Canon RF-mount Lenses for 2020

Nokishita Camera has just confirmed that Canon will announce 8 RF lenses in 2020. The official announcement for these new RF lenses could coming along with EOS R5 and EOS R6 in early July.

Canon has already announced f/2.8 zoom lenses, so it is time for the company to release some cheap and light f/4 zoom lenses. Canon will also release at least one “crazy look-what-we-can-do” lens (like RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM) in 2020. Canon RF Lens Roadmap 2020

Here is the latest Canon RF mount lens roadmap for 2020 and 2021 that has been shown to selected photographers. Canon’s plan is to release between 6 to 8 new RF mount lenses in 2020.

Patent : Canon RF 400mm f/4 DO, 600mm f/4 DO, 800mm f/5.6 DO Lenses

Canon has filed a new lens patent for RF 400mm f/4 DO lens, 600mm f/4 DO lens, and 800mm f/5.6 lens.

According to hi-lows-note these lenses could be RF mount and designed for the Canon full frame mirrorless camera system a.k.a EOS R series models.

Remember next EOS R series full frame mirrorless cameras rumored to feature IBIS. So this makes sense that RF 400mm f/4 DO, RF 600mm f/4 DO, RF 800mm f/5.6 DO lenses could be made for Canon RF mount.
