Canon RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens to be Announced in Late 2020

Canon is rumored to announce the RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens sometime in late 2020. This RF mount telephoto zoom lens in testing by a very small group of photographers and videographers.

During the Canon EOS R5 development announcement, Canon also announced that there will be a total of 9 RF lenses coming in 2020, including already announced RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens (B&H, Adorama, Amazon) RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens, Extender RF 1.4x, Extender RF 2x. The Canon RF 70-135mm f/2L USM Lens was one of the lenses that is expected for 2020 launch.

Canon RF 14-28mm f/2L Lens to be Announced Soon

Canon will allegedly announce a RF 14-28mm f/2L Lens and this will be a new addition to complete the trio.

As you know the company unveiled the RF 28-70mm f/2L USM lens for EOS R full frame mirrorless camera system in 2019. Now recent reports indicates that Canon will release a “holy trinity” of RF mount f/2L zoom lenses. The RF 14-28mm f/2L USM Lens is one of them and to be announced next. Canon RF Lens Roadmap 2020

Here is the latest Canon RF mount lens roadmap for 2020 and 2021 that has been shown to selected photographers. Canon’s plan is to release between 6 to 8 new RF mount lenses in 2020.

Canon has already announced f/2.8 zoom lenses, so it is time for the company to release some cheap and light f/4 zoom lenses. Canon will also release at least one “crazy look-what-we-can-do” lens (like RF 50mm f/1.2 L USM) in 2020. There will also be at least one fast L prime and some non-L lenses in 2020.
