Patent: Canon RF 24-100mm f/2.8L, RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 and 24-85mm f/2.8L Lenses

Canon has filed three new patents for RF mount superzoom lenses with f/2.8 bright aperture. The patent application describes the Canon RF 24-100mm f/2.8L, RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 and 24-85mm f/2.8L lenses designed for the company’s full frame EOS R system.

The Canon RF 24-300mm f/4-5.6 lens will be a consumer oriented glass and the focal range is ideal for travel photography. Canon previously filed several RF superzoom lens patents. Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 & RF f/2.8 Pancake Lenses Coming in 2020

Canon will also announce two inexpensive prime lenses for Canon EOS R and EOS RP full frame mirrorless cameras in 2020.

The first one is an RF f/2.8 Pancake lens, which is definitely in the works. This small and lightweight optic is expected to be announced sometime in the first half of 2020. Maybe it will have the same design as the current EF 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens.

Canon EOS R Firmware Update Version 1.6.0 Released

Canon released a new firmware version 1.6.0 for the Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera. This is a minor firmware update with a lot of bug fixes and support for RF 85mm F1.2L USM DS lens.

Report : Canon EOS R Firmware Update “Dramatically Improved” Autofocus

Confirmed : EOS R Pro/EOS RX in the Works, with IBIS and Dual Card Slots

DigitalCameraWorld has interviewed Canon UK executive during the EOS-1D X Mark III development announcement. According to the interview it is now confirmed that EOS R Pro or EOS RX is in the works, and these cameras are expected to feature IBIS and dual card slots. Canon EOS R PRO camera coming in March 2020 ?

Canon is rumored to announce a new Canon EOS R Pro camera in March 2020. As previously mentioned it will be equivalent to the upcoming EOS-1D X Mark III. This is expected to be the new high-resolution model in company’s full frame mirrorless system.
