Atomos announces development of Apple ProRes RAW support on the Ninja V for Sony’s New FX3. With the Apple ProRes RAW support, Sony FX3 will be getting 4.3K/60p ProRes RAW external recording to Ninja V.
The FX3 is Sony’s latest offering in its newly formed Cinema Camera Line and borrows a lot of its features from the popular a7S III, remixing it into a body better suited for video-centric workflows.
According to Atomos, they will soon enable the Ninja V 5-inch monitor/recorder to record 12bit ProRes RAW up to 4.3K/60p from the Sony FX3.

Now you can pre-order the new Sony FX3 cinema E-mount camera at major US stores: Adorama | B&H | Amazon.
The Sony FX3 is built around the same 12MP full-frame BSI-CMOS sensor as the a7S III and promises the same UHD 4K capabilities, including 60p capture from the full sensor width and 4K/120p with a slight crop. It offers the same choice of bitrates and codecs as the a7S III, meaning 10-bit 4:2:2 in a choice of XAVC HS (H.265) or XAVC S (H.264) with matching bitrates. It can also shoot XAVC S-I, an All-I H.264 format. It doesn’t have the DCI (1.89:1 ratio) options of the FX6.

Sony has just announced the release of the Sony FX3 full frame cinema E-mount camera. The US price of the FX3 is $3,898 and available from B&H/Adorama/Amazon.
This compact addition to Sony’s Cinema Line blends the full-frame, S-Cinetone capture of the FX6 with the UHD 4K capture, autofocus options, and body size of the a7S III camera. The video-forward design of the FX3 also shares several handling and audio features with the FX6 and the ISO range and battery of the Sony a7S III.

Here are the full product pictures of the Sony FX3. The full frame E-mount cinema camera will be officially announced on February 23, 2021 at 16:00 CET / 15:00 GMT.
Sony FX3 will be able to record 4K video at 120p. It will feature 12MP sensor with no built-in ND filter. The weight will be about 715g and the dimensions are 129.7 x 77.8 x 84.5 mm.
Sony FX3 is a Sony a7S III in a square boxy design and features still capabilities. Other noteworthy features include dedicated Photo Mode, IBIS with active mode, full-size HDMI, articualting LCD screen, and dual slot for CFexpress A and SD cards. Sony released a new teaser that the Sony FX3 E-mount cinema camera will be officially announced on February 23, 2021 at 16:00 CET / 15:00 GMT.
The Sony FX3 cinema camera will feature a 12 megapixel sensor and shoot 4K 120 FPS video. It is expected to have a price tag of 3795 Euros in Europe and $4000 in the US. However from the first leaked specs the camera does not look to have the ND filter found in other Sony Cinema Line cameras. We can easily say that the FX3 will be by far the smallest Cinema Line camera owned by Sony.

Here are the rumored specs of the Sony FX3 camera. Gaston Shutters published new pictures and shared new specs of the Sony FX3 in his Youtube channel.
According to the video the upcoming Sony FX3 will be basically the same as the Sony a7S III camera. Sony FX3 specs consists of 12MP full frame sensor. The camera will be able to record 4K at 120p but no 8K as rumored before. It will have IBIS and video recording expected with no overheating after 13hours 4K all-in 10bit 4:2:2.
