The 17-28 is marketed as the ideal companion to Tamron’s excellent 28-75mm lens, adding a useful wideangle range. The 17-28 is 9cm (3.9″) long and weighs in at 420g (14.8oz.).  The lens is sealed against dust and moisture.

Canon announces new ultra-high-res 120MP, ultra-high-sensitive 2.7MP CMOS sensors

Canon has announced a new 120-megapixel ultra-high resolution CMOS sensor along with a 2.7-megapixel ultra-high sensitivity CMOS sensor.

The new ultra-high resolution 120MXSI and ultra-high sensitivity 35MMFHDXSMA sensors have been designed for industrial use and, at least as of now, won’t be used in Canon’s consumer cameras. But this technology has a habit of trickling down over time.

Fujifilm INSTAX Mini LiPlay Instant Camera, Price $159.95

Fujifilm Instax Mini LiPlay is Fuji’s latest smallest, lightest hybrid instant camera. The hybrid instant film camera combines the features of an analog instant film camera with digital camera convenience in the smallest package possible.  The US price for this camera is $159.95, you can check pre-order options at B&H Photo Video/Adorama.

It doesn’t shoot straight to instant film like analog Instax cameras, but instead uses a very small 1/5-inch digital image sensor that captures 2,560×1,920-pixel images (about 5 megapixels). The prints are small like those from other Instax Mini cameras at 3.4 by 2.1 inches (86 by 54 mm), though the actual image size is 2.4 by 1.8 inches (62 by 46 mm).
