OM System OM-1 Camera Announced : Priced $2,199, Available for Pre-Order

OM SYSTEM OM-1 flagship Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera is now officially announced.

The US price is $2,199 (body only), and it is now available for pre-order at B&H, Adorama. It is a new flagship camera using its new OM System brand, featuring 20.4MP Micro Four Thirds stacked CMOS sensor with 5-axis in-body image stabilization and two high-resolution modes capable of outputting 50MP and 80MP images in a special Tripod High Res mode.

This new camera costs $2,199, first available for pre-order at Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama. Shipping is scheduled to start in early March 2022.

Sigma 20mm F/2 DG DN | Contemporary Lens Announced For Mirrorless Cameras. The US price is $699 and available for pre-order at B&HPhoto and Adorama.

The lens is the seventh—and widest—in the company’s premium all-metal ‘I series’ lens lineup designed for Sony E mount and L-Mount camera systems.

The lens is constructed of 13 elements in 11 groups, including one ‘F’ low dispersion element, one Special low dispersion element and three aspherical elements. Sigma has also used its Super Multi-Layer Coating and Nano Porous Coating (NPC) to reduce flaring and ghosting when shooting into bright light sources. Nikon NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S Lens Price, Specs, Release Date

Nikon has announced the NIKKOR Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S Lens for its mirrorless cameras and it features a built-in 1.4x teleconverter to give a maximum focal length of 560mm. The US price of the lens is $13,999.95 and now available for pre-order at Amazon, B&H, Adorama.

It is the first Z lens to feature Nikon’s new Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor (VCM) focusing system with optical ABS encoder. It’s designed to deliver faster autofocus that is quieter than normal yet enables perfect subject acquisition and tracking.

The Nikon Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S is also the first Z lens to have Nikon’s new Meso Amorphous Coat, which is claimed to deliver the highest anti-reflection performance in Nikkor history. This new coating uses particles even smaller than nano particles and is said to give better control of ghosting and flare with excellent clarity even when shooting scenes with multiple direct light sources

At 2950 g (6 lb 8.1 oz), the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8 TC VR S is light for its focal length and aperture. It’s also fully sealed against moisture and dust, plus its centre of gravity is towards the lens mount to make it feel more stable and balanced in use.

DJI Mavic 3 Officially Announced, Price $2,199

DJI officially announced the new DJI Mavic 3 drone. The US price is $2,199 and it is now in stock at major US stores: Amazon, B&H, Adorama.

Both the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine feature a Hasselblad-branded L2D-20c dual-camera array that couples DJI engineering with Hasselblad’s proprietary Natural Color Solution (HNCS) technology. Inside the main camera, which can capture 12-bit Raw files, is a 20MP Four Thirds sensor behind a 24mm (full-frame equiv.) lens with a variable F2.8-11 aperture. The secondary camera (the top one in the array) uses a 12MP 1/2″-type CMOS sensor behind a 162mm (equiv.) telephoto lens with a fixed F4.4 aperture. Both lenses combine to offer a 28x hybrid (optical + digital) zoom function.

The main imaging difference between the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine models is that the Cine model can capture ProRes 422 HQ at a maximum data rate of 3,772 Mbps. Aside from ProRes 422 HQ capture, both drones can record 5.1K/50p, DCI or UHD 4K/120p and 1080p/200p footage (200 Mbps with H.264 and 140 Mbps with H.265). Both models offer 10-bit D-Log recording.

MOZA Unveils AirCross 3 – the Foldable and Transformable Gimbal

Sony A7 IV Announced, Priced $2,498, Available for Pre-Order

Sony has officially announced the new Sony A7 IV. It does double duty with strong stills and video performance. An advanced hybrid mirrorless camera, the a7 IV has the resolution and AF performance that appeals to photographers along with robust 4K 60p video recording for filmmakers and content creators.

The newly developed 33MP Exmor R CMOS sensor pairs with the BIONZ XR processor from the Alpha 1 to achieve quick shooting up to 10 fps and 4K 60p video recording, along with broad sensitivity up to ISO 51200 and a wide 15+ stop dynamic range. Beyond image quality, the sensor and processor also contribute to an advanced AI-based AF system that supports Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking for intuitive AF control and subject tracking.

The new sensor is combined with Sony’s Bionz XR processing engine to deliver speed and resolution, with a host of new AF modes. New to the Sony A7 IV is an Eye AF Birds mode and Eye AF for video. These join the existing Eye AF and Animal Eye AF modes.

The a7 IV will be available from late December 2021 at a recommended price of $2499, a $500 increase over the launch price of the a7 III.
