Sony A7S III Announcement Rumored for October 2019

Next Sony full frame E-mount camera would be the Sony A7S III as the third version of this low-light king rumored  before October 2019.

According to recent reports, we can see the Sony A7S III announcement before October. So expect a product announcement in late Summer.

Sony Working on Enthusiast APS-C camera – Sony A6700 ?

In a recent interview with Imaging Resource, Sony confirmed again that they are actively working on enthusiast APS-C camera.

We know that the Fujifilm X-T3 and X-T30 uses the 26MP X-Trans BSI-CMOS 4 sensor that is made by Sony. It’s the most advanced APS-C sensor in the market today. We believe that a possible Sony A6700 camera will use this sensor with improved AF and the addition of 4K @60p 4:2:2 10 bit video mode.

Sony a6400 vs Canon 6D Mark II Autofocus Comparison

Here is a autofocus comparison of the Sony a6400 vs Canon 6D Mark II cameras. In this video below you can see how the Sony’s latest Real-Time Tracking compares to the Canon’s Dual Pixel Autofocus.

Sony A6400 has 425 autofocus points for both phase detection and contrast detection. This is the first Sony E-mount camera that has Real-time Eye AF, which opens up the excellent eye detection continuous autofocusing to be used anywhere without requiring a separate button to activate. 2019 Camera Predictions: Sony a7000, Nikon D760, Canon 7D Mark III

Check out this 2019 camera predictions video published by Tony & Chelsea Northrup.  According to this, the Sony A7000, the Nikon D760 and the Canon 7D Mark III are the leading cameras for 2019.

Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE lens for Sony E-mount officially announced

 for full frame Sony E-mount ameras now officially announced. The new prime lens offers stunning resolution, bokeh and excellent AF performance.

The Samyang AF 85mm F1.4 FE will be available Spring 2019. Pricing to be determined later.

We can have a look at the Canon EF version of this Samyang lens as it is is priced at $579 at Amazon.  Sure Sony user will wait and see if the real world images provide the same quality as the Sony FE 85mm f/1.4 GM lens ($1,798). Sony a9 Firmware Update Version 5.0 Coming on March 25th

Sony major firmware update for the Alpha A9 will arrive on March 25th.  This will be the Sony a9 Firmware Update Version 5.0.

This upgrade will add a range of features, including improved tracking in both stills and video, as well as extending Eye AF to animals, something Sony showed at Photokina back in September. The a7R III and a7 III will also gain the improved Eye-AF and animal Eye AF, as well as time-lapse capabilities.

Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 Lens Officially Announced for Sony FE-mount

 officially announced for Sony E-mount cameras with full frame image sensor. The fast prime lens will start shipping from March 20th and the USD price stands around $770.

This is the first lens of the line, equipped with an E attachment for mirrorless cameras, as well as a unique bokeh pattern. Ultra-high aperture speed of F / 0.95 provides low-light shooting. Distinctive design detail has become a perfectly round diaphragm, provided with fourteen petals.

The lens is constructed of nine elements in eight groups and constructed entirely of glass and metal. Considering the metal construction and massive optical elements, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the lens weighs quite a bit for its focal length, 1.1kg / 2.43lbs. Sony a7S III Rumored to Feature Global Shutter Sensor with 4K@60P

More details about the Sony A7S III camera have been leaked. According to recent reports the Japan-based company is rumored to launch Sony A7s III with global shutter sensor and 4K video recording at 60p.

Reports also indicates that the low-light full frame mirrorless from Sony will not be on display at the NAB 2019 event.  The earliest announcement for Sony A7S III seems to be the end of 2019.
