Sony a7S III or Sony a9 II to be Announced Soon

Sony will soon announce one more full frame mirrorless camera, which will probably be the “Sony a9 II“ or Sony a7S III.

The company already registered a new camera under the code name “WW942051” with certification authority and this camera is expected to be announced in the next 1-2 weeks period.

More details on this camera code is that it has the same 5.8GHz Wi-Fi as Sony a7R IV. So this refers to another high-end model such as the Sony a7S III or the Sony a9 II.

Today Nikon officially announced the development of the Nikon D6 professional DSLR camera. This will reinforce Nikon DSLR’s advantage in sports photojournalism. Nikon and Canon tend to launch their flagship cameras around the time of the Olympic Games, which are occurring next summer in Tokyo 2020. We think that Sony will wait to announce the Sony a9II until the Nikon D6 and Canon 1DX Mark III becomes official.

According to this scenario this registered camera  would be the Sony A7s III and the company will answer the Panasonic’s video centric S1H shooter with the Alpha a7SIII.
