Canon EOS R1 Rumored to be the King of Resolution

According to the latest Canon rumorsCanon EOS R1 announcement is planned for the second half of 2023. We might see teaser ads from the spring.

In terms of features, Canon EOS R1 will be a new king of resolution and it will focus on 8K video production. We have also heard that the EOS R1 is a step forward in form factor and ergonomics, combining what you would expect from Canon’s flagship camera with some new features. Canon has spent much of its development talking to photographers, especially pros using the EOS R3.

Until now, we had no idea what kind of camera the EOS R1 would be, but since information has come out that it will be the “king of resolution”, if this is true, it will be at least higher than the 61 million pixels of Sony a7R IV.

Here are the latest updates about the upcoming Nikon Z8 high-megapixel full frame mirrorless camera. According to recent Nikon rumors, the Nikon Z8 will be officially announced or released during February 2023 to April 2023 timeframe. There still a chance that Nikon will announce the development of Nikon Z8 later this year.

New OM System OM-5 Camera to be Announced in Late October

The new OM System OM-5 camera to be announced in late October and not in September due the chip shortage. The new release date is late October and the shipments expected to start in November. The simple reason for this is the ongoing worldwide chip shortage. Meaning that the OM Digital needs a bit more time to produce enough OM-5 bodies.

According to latest Olympus rumors here are the OM System OM-5 specifications leaked so far;

  • 20MP (same OM-1 sensor)
  • 15fps
  • Single card slot
  • 3.6mp EVF
  • Same OM-1 BLX-1 battery
  • Announcement late October
  • Shipment start in November
  • Also a new lens will be announced

New Firmware Ver. 2.1 for Nikon Z9 to be Released Soon

According to latest rumors, Nikon is rumored to release a new firmware version 2.1 for Nikon Z9 in the next 7-14 days. The new firmware includes AF fixes and improvements, but will also include some important updates.

It is rumored that Nikon’s new APS-C mirrorless camera will be announced at the end of June or early July, so we think there will be multiple announcements on the same day (the new Z 400mm F4.5 is also expected to be announced).

The new firmware for Nikon Z9 seems to be a surprisingly big update, including improvements in AF. Also, it seems that the previously rumored APS-C mirrorless camera and interchangeable lens may be announced at the same time, and if Nikon Rumors expected, the next Nikon announcement will be a large one.

The Nikon Z9 competitors in this price range are mainly the “Canon EOS R3” and “Sony a1“.

Sony RX10 V to be Released in Late 2022

According to latest Sony rumors, Sony will announce a high-power zoom camera with a fixed lens in late 2022. This rumor refers to the highly anticipated Sony RX  10V.

“The main differentiator (from the current model) is that AI / Computation Photo technology will be introduced for the first time as a Sony camera. Also, the design and ergonomics have been improved, the flash has disappeared, and the α6600. The same battery will be used. The lens will be the same as the old model. This camera will be blackout-free and will have a continuous shooting function of up to 24 frames / sec.”

Since the information is unreliable, it seems better to ask about half the story at the moment, but if Sony RX10 V really appears, it will be the first model change in 5 years.

Currently, the market for integrated lens cameras is significantly smaller than before, but Panasonic, Nikon, and Canon still have a lineup of large integrated lens cameras equipped with high-power zoom, so Sony is in this category. It may not be so strange to introduce a new model with.

If the specs are as rumored, the new model is likely to be a normal evolution model that uses AI technology.
