Tamron has filed a new patent in Japan. This patent describes a Tamron 485mm f/5.8 lens for mirrorless cameras with Micro Four Thirds image sensors.
If we see this in mass production than it would be Tamron’s second optic for Micro 4/3rds. First one released back in mid-2014 as the Tamron 14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III ($399). Tamron 480mm f/5.8 Lens for Micro Four Thirds will offer a 960mm equivalent range in 35mm format and probably use a stepper motor for silent autofocus.
