Leica M11 Sensor Review and Test Results (100 Points)

DxOMark completed their full in-depth review for 60MP BSI sensor inside the Leica M11 camera. According to their sensor review and test results; the Leica M11 achieved an excellent overall DxOMark sensor score of 100 points, with a combination of 26.3 bits color depth, 14.8 EV dynamic range, and 3376 ISO low-light score.

With an overall sensor score of 100, Leica M11 is a state-of-the-art high pixel count full-frame 35mm format sensor.  This is also 4 points higher than the Leica Q2  at 96 points, the last best performing Leica sensor they tested. Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens Coming in late 2022

Here is a good news on the Tamron side. Thirds party lens manufacturer is planning to unveil a Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens by the end of 2022.

The lens will be available for Sony E-mount and use VXD drive to achieve faster AF speed and accuracy. Tamron has received high praise with the introduction of the version II standard zoom lens 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens (Model A063). Since the 28-75mm F2.8 has been remodeled to G2, it seems natural that the 17-28mm F2.8 will also be remodeled to G2.

Tamron has already released the 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 Lens, and it is natural to update the 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens.

Sony officially announced the new FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens, a second-generation zoom lens that is the smallest and lightest F2.8 G Master lens in its lineup. The US price is $2,298, and you can check the pre-order options at B&H Photo / Amazon / Adorama.

A refined take on the fast standard zoom, the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II is not only smaller and lighter than the previous generation, it also features a variety of optical, focusing, and handling upgrades that make this the most well-rounded G Master zoom to date. The lens features an all new optical construction that consists of 20 elements in 15 groups, including five aspherical elements (two of which are high-precision extreme aspherical (XA) elements), two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements and two Super ED elements. Notice Regarding Some Operations of OM SYSTEM OM-1

The OM SYSTEM OM-1 flagship mirrorless camera is freezing when shooting with the EVF (viewfinder) frame rate set to “high speed”. OM System just release a notice that they will fix this issue via a new firmware update.

Rumors: Leica Q3 Coming in 2023 with a new 60MP sensor

Leica is rumored to announce a new Q3 camera in 2023 with a 60MP sensor.  The current Leica Q2 models have a 47MP sensor. The new Leica M11 that was recently announced has a 60MP sensor. So it’s quite possible that we will meet a new Leica Q3 with 60MP sensor.

The Leica Q2 is a fixed-lens, full-frame camera sporting a new 47.3MP sensor and a sharp, stabilized 28mm F1.7 Summilux lens. Leica has paired the sensor with an updated Maestro processing engine to enable a sensitivity range of ISO 50–50,000, a maximum continuous shooting rate of up to 20fps with the electronic shutter, and 4K (3840 x2160) video recording at 24/30fps (or C4K 4096 x 2160 at 24p).

Sigma will announce the new 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art and 50mm f/2 DG DN Contemporary Lens in Q2 (April-June) of 2022 with the new 16-28mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary lens. The latest rumor suggests that the new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN Lens for Sony E mount will be announced by the end of the year. The release of the 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN FE Lens could be early next year, this is because the semiconductor and supply issues haven’t been resolved yet.
