Canon RF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Patent

Here is a Canon patent application (2019-020679) for a RF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 IS lens. Designed for Canon full frame mirrorless camera system, this lens is the EOS R version of the budget-friendly telephoto zoom for the consumer market.

Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 AF Test Video

Here is a test video between the Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 cameras. The new LUMIX S1R and S1 Micro Four Thirds cameras, uses the same Depth from Defocus AF system. On the other hand Nikon Z6 features 273 Phase AF points based Fullframe Sensor.

Panasonic S1’s ($2,497.99 at Amazon, B&H, Adorama) DFD is contrast-detect based but uses an understanding of each lens’s optical characteristics to work out where to drive the focus to. The camera’s AF Tracking mode has been updated, too. It now tracks whatever is under the focus point when you half-press (or AF-On) and then reverts to your original AF area when you release. Full Fujifilm X-T30 Specifications

Full specifications of the upcoming Fujifilm X-T30 camera have been leaked.

As mentioned several times on previous rumors, the Fuji X-T30 camera will feature the same 26.2MP APS-c image sensor as the Fujifilm X-T3. Major difference is the removal of the D-Pad in favor of a joystick.. Check out the full Fujifilm X-T30 specificaitons !

Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 MFT Lens to be Announced Soon

Olympus is rumored to announce a new M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm f/3.5-6.3 MFT lens soon.

Designed for Micro Four Thirds system cameras the lens will provide a standard focal range of 24-400mm equiv. Official announcement is expected ahead of CP+ 2019 event probbaly on February 14th.

Rumors: Leica Q2 with 47MP sensor, Leica S3 with 64MP sensor

According to recent reports the upcoming Leica Q2 camera could feature a new 47MP sensor. The new Leica FOTOS app version 1.1.0 already has a listing for the upcoming Leica Q2 camera with two new resolution settings.

Rumors claims that one of them is for Leica Q2 with 47MP sensor and the other one is for Leica S3 with 64MP sensor.

So in addition to the Sony RX1, Leica will make it serious full-frame fixed-lens competitor with the upcoming Zeiss ZX1.

  • 47MP (for the Leica Q2?)

Leica Q2 Camera Rumors

  • “Leica Q2” has already been trademarked in Europe since 2017
  • Leica Q2 has also already been registered at the Indonesian government agency Postel under the code name “4889”
  • Nokishita spotted the registration for the new Leica Q2 camera. We shall see this camera announced within 1-2 months

Confirmed : Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM Lens to be Announced Soon

Finally it is now confirmed that the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens will be announced soon. The fast telephoto prime lens will be designed for Sony full frame E-mount.

Official announcement of the Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens is expected happen ahead of CP+ Show 2019 on February 14th.

It can also be used with APS-C models where it will provide a 202.5mm equivalent focal length. Bright f/1.8 maximum aperture is good for low-light conditions and also provides greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques.

Check out the list of upcoming Sony mirrorless lenses in 2019. There will be four new lenses and Sony FE 135mm f/1.8 GM lens is one of them.

Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware 2.10 Released

Fujifilm X-T3 firmware version 2.10 has just been released.

  1. Recording over 4GB movie file as one file 　Movie files are no longer split when the file reaches 4GB file size. The file is recorded as one file providing an SD memory card greater than 32GB is used (excludes 32GB) (*1).
    *1：By using SD memory cards less than or equal to 32GB, movie recording will continue without interruption when the file size reaches 4GB, however subsequent footage will be recorded to a separate file.
    Note：Format SD memory cards before first use, and be sure to reformat all memory cards after using them in a computer or other device.
  2. Fix of slight defects.
