The new Tokina Opera 16-28mm f/2.8 FF Lens for Canon & Nikon full-frame DSLRs is now officially announced. The US price is $699 and pre-orders are now open at B&H Photo Video/Adorama. Shipping is scheduled to start on March 15th, 2019.

Distinguished by its bright design, the Tokina opera 16-28mm f/2.8 FF is a flexible wide-angle zoom well-suited to landscape, architectural, and astrophotography applications. The f/2.8 constant maximum aperture pairs with the broad field of view range to realize an ideal lens for working in available light conditions and for using shallow depth of field techniques. The optical design incorporates aspherical and low dispersion glass elements, which help to control distortion and color fringing throughout the zoom range in order to produce sharp, clear, and color-accurate imagery. Nikon Released New Firmware Updates for the D600, D610 and D750 DSLRs

New firmware updates for the Nikon D750D610D600 DSLR cameras becomes official and released.

This firmware mainly fixes an issue that resulted in over-application of distortion control in pictures taken with an AF-P DX NIKKOR 10-20mm f/4.5-5.6G VR lens.

Nikon D6 DSLR Camera Coming in 2019

Nikon Announced the Development of New Firmware for the Z6, Z7, D5, D850 and D500

Nikon has announced more details of firmware in development for the Z6, Z7, D5, D850 and D500 cameras.

As previously reported, firmware is being planned that will add Eye-detection AF, CFexpress support and Raw video over HDMI to the Z6 and Z7, with AF and AE improvements also coming in May.

You might familiar with Eye AF which is found on Sony mirrorless cameras, including the a7 III and a7R III against which the Z6 and Z7 compete. Another significant upcoming feature is the ability to output ProRes RAW video to an Atomos Ninja V. This would make the  and  the first stills/video hybrid cameras to support RAW video output. Check out the details below. Nikon Z7 firmware update 1.03 and Nikon Z6 firmware update 1.01 released

Nikon has released new firmware updates for the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7 full frame mirrorless cameras.

Nikon Z7 firmware update 1.03 and Nikon Z6 firmware update 1.01 firmware updates fixes several issues. The previously announced major firmware that will add Eye AF, RAW video support, CFexpress support to Z series is expected later.

Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 AF Test Video

Here is a test video between the Panasonic S1 vs Nikon Z6 cameras. The new LUMIX S1R and S1 Micro Four Thirds cameras, uses the same Depth from Defocus AF system. On the other hand Nikon Z6 features 273 Phase AF points based Fullframe Sensor.

Panasonic S1’s ($2,497.99 at AmazonB&HAdorama) DFD is contrast-detect based but uses an understanding of each lens’s optical characteristics to work out where to drive the focus to. The camera’s AF Tracking mode has been updated, too. It now tracks whatever is under the focus point when you half-press (or AF-On) and then reverts to your original AF area when you release.
