Latest rumors suggest that the Nikon Z8 / Z9 will feature flagship-level 14fps shooting. We already posted that the upcoming Nikon Z8 / Nikon Z9 could have a 60MP sensor, but according to the latest reports it could also feature a top continuous shooting speed of 14 frames per second using the mechanical shutter.
Nikon will announce a new mirrorless camera that features 60.8MP (9552×6364) sensor which is able to shoot 16-bit RAW NEF files (Nikon will introduce a lossy compressed RAW codec to reduce the file size). The previous rumors claimed that the IMX455 Sony 61MP sensor which is already used on Sony A7R IV will be on the next Nikon full frame mirrorless camera. Possible candidate for this sensor is the Nikon Z8.
So what’s next for Nikon. The upcoming Nikon D880 (Replacement of D850) is expected to arrive after the Z8 announcement. According to rumor mill, we’ll see the D850 replacement in early 2021.The high-resolution DSLR will also feature with 60MP IMX455 sensor from Sony a7R IV.
