Nikon is rumored to purchase the new Sony 60MP sensor called the IMX455. The Sony IMX455AQR sensor features 60MP, 8k video, and offers native 64 ISO.
As you might remember Sony will allegedly announce two new sensors. One of them will be capable of 60 megapixel stills, 16 channels, and 8K video recording. The other one is 36MP BSI stacked sensor which will probably be used on the Sony A9 II.
The Sony 60MP sensor PDAF is supposed to be better than the Multi-CAM 20000 currently used in some Nikon cameras. Possible candidates for this high-resolution IMX455AQR sensor are the Nikon D860 and the Nikon Z8.
