Canon will also announce two inexpensive prime lenses for Canon EOS R and EOS RP full frame mirrorless cameras in 2020.
The first one is an RF f/2.8 Pancake lens, which is definitely in the works. This small and lightweight optic is expected to be announced sometime in the first half of 2020. Maybe it will have the same design as the current EF 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens.
The second one is the RF 50mm f/1.8 lens, just like the EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens for Canon EF mount. The exact announcement date is still unknown.
Apart from these Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 & RF f/2.8 Pancake Lenses, the company will also announce the RF 70-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens which will be the same size as the recently released Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM ($2,699 at B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon).
