Sony releases a firmware update allowing users to live stream with the Sony ZV-1 by directly connecting the camera via USB to a PC or Mac.
Firmware v2.00 lets users connect the Sony ZV-1 to a PC (or compatible MacOS machines) via USB and live stream in high-quality video. In addition, users also benefit from the quality built-in microphone for crystal-clear audio to bump-up the production quality of your Zoom calls or live streams on social media.
What’s New in Firmware Update v2.00 for Sony ZV-1
- USB Live Streaming function added
- Connecting over a USB cable to a PC or Xperia smartphone allows you to conduct livestreaming and online communication with the high video and audio quality
- This applies to Xperia 1 II smartphones or Xperia 5 II smartphones that have been upgraded to Android 11. Update availability varies by region. (As of February 9, 2021)
- Use a commercially available USB cable or terminal conversion adaptor
- Improves the overall stability and performance of the camera
A quick note on the Mac version of this firmware – the latest BigSur MacOS is (for some bizarre reason) currently not supported.
