Fujifilm has announced the GFX 100S mirrorless medium format camera. Building on the Fujifilm GFX100, the new GFX100S promises a smaller, more portable design, weighing just 900g.
The GFX 100S is Fujifilm’s fourth model in the series, offering a 102 megapixel sensor, 4K/30p video recording, and 6-stops of 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS). The 100S can also sync its in-body IS system with in-lens correction to maintain this figure at longer focal lengths. Other features include a magnesium alloy body design, 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD and 1.8-inch LCD on the top plate.
In terms of video, the Fujifilm GFX100S can record 4K footage at 30p at bit rates of 400Mbps, from 10-bit 4:2:0 F-log internally to an SD card to 12-bit 4:2:2 ProRes RAW through the camera’s HDMI port.
Fujifilm GFX100S Price and Availability
The Fujifilm GFX100S price tag will be $5,999, with a release date set for 4 March. It’s available for pre-order from Amazon, B&H, Adorama in the USA. It will cost £5,499 in EU: AmazonDE / AmazonUK.

Fujifilm also announced the Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR, price tag £2,099 (AmazonDE / AmazonUK), the world’s first f/1.7 lens with AF for a large format system. Check availability BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama.
The Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR is the fastest among Fujifilm’s G mount lenses and is the 35mm equivalent of 63mm.
The Fujinon GF80mm F1.7 R WR is comprised of 12 elements in nine groups, including one aspherical element and two Super ED elements.
The new Fujifilm GF lens also supports Face and Eye AF and retains focus even when the subject is moving within the frame.
